Week 015 (Nov 3–Nov 9): Maker Faire, AI Design & Hardware Security

✍ Week’s content, if you missed it

  • No new content published last week.

🛠 This Week at the Workbench

  • Attended Maker Faire Salzburg — a small but inspiring event full of passionate makers and tinkerers. It was great to see curiosity spark in children’s eyes as they explored different projects.
  • For the next podcast episode, I decided to take a different approach: a more reflective format instead of the usual deep technical dive.
  • Began working on a new project: HakFabrik.com — where hardware meets security. I’m currently building the landing page and validating the idea before investing too much time.

💡 Things I Learned or Noticed

  • Maker Faire events aren’t just about gear or tools — they’re about community, experimentation, and creativity. It’s amazing how resourceful people can be when solving problems.
  • I’ve been struggling with Final Cut Pro performance recently, but after getting a new external Samsung SSD, everything runs smoothly — no more hiccups or crashes. Definitely worth the upgrade.
  • Tested several AI tools this week for product design visualization, including Krea.ai, Spline.design, Meshy.ai, and Leonardo.ai. Early results look promising, though reaching top quality definitely requires full subscriptions.

🔗 Inspiration & Resources

  • AI for Product Design & Rendering— a great starting point for anyone exploring AI visualization workflows.
  • COSMOS— a refreshing, visually rich alternative to Pinterest for design inspiration.

🚀 What’s Next

Next week I plan to continue validating the product idea for HakFabrik.com and shaping its direction before moving deeper into development.
