Week 2 (Aug 4–Aug 10): Retro Games, Garage Upgrades & Drone Progress

Freshly renovated empty garage with new sockets and wiring.

🛠 This Week at the Workbench

Bought threaded inserts for 3D prints — next project: a sturdy table camera/phone mount.
Printed replacement gates for my father’s old football game (now a hit with my daughter).
Built an NMEA parser for my drone telemetry system — works better than expected.
Spent long hours in the garage, installing new sockets and wiring after fresh plaster and paint.

💡 Things I Learned or Noticed

Side project ideas keep popping up, but using Obsidian to capture them ensures nothing gets lost.
Deleted my Twitter last year but recently reopened one just for the podcast — still, Bluesky feels more active and engaging.
That old football game sparked a ton of ideas for adding electronics to vintage games.
Planning the drone telemetry system with clear milestones makes it easier to see when the first iteration is “done.”
