Week 009 (Sep 22–Sep 28): Keyboard Upgrades, New Ideas & Season Finale Prep

✍ Week’s content, if you missed it

  • No new blog posts this week — just a few social updates about my new free posters. Sometimes the day job and the workbench win over the keyboard.

🛠 This Week at the Workbench

  • Spent a good amount of time on idea validation and brainstorming for the next podcast season. I haven’t settled on the right project yet, but ideas range from autonomous drones to SaaS applications, a weather balloon, protoboard layout tools, and more.
  • Not much hands-on progress otherwise — work kept me busy this week.

💡 Things I Learned or Noticed

  • Last weekend I mentioned the typewriter idea, and that led me to buy a mechanical keyboard. After years on Apple’s flat keyboards, switching to this one feels perfect — I love the sound and the tactile feedback. The only downside: it mostly stays on my desk, since on the go I still rely on the laptop’s built-in keyboard. (Photo in the header)
  • Preparing the season finale of the podcast gave me a chance to reflect on how much I’ve already learned during this project. While you’re in the middle of it, you don’t always notice the growth — but stepping back shows real progress.

📸 Snapshot of the Week

🔗 Inspiration & Resources

  • Zed — A new code editor worth trying, with great performance.
  • Low Level — If you’re into low-level C programming, this channel is a must-watch.
  • How to repair a Seagate hard drive — Fascinating look at data recovery and drive repair.

🚀 What’s Next

Next week, I plan to narrow in on the project for the next podcast season — and maybe even get started.
