Week 3 (Aug 11–Aug 17): Switching to CircuitPython & Wiring the Workshop

✍ Week’s content, if you missed it

🛠 This Week at the Workbench

  • To keep the drone telemetry system alive, I finally made the call to switch to CircuitPython.
  • After finishing the wires last week in my garage, this week I finished the sub-distribution cabling (this week’s head photo).
  • Exploring the idea of mounting a laser engraver on my old Anycubic printer — still on the fence.

💡 Things I Learned or Noticed

  • Switching to CircuitPython — and hunting for a new dev board — made me realize that with a bit more research upfront, I could have avoided some headaches and chosen better tools earlier.
  • The SD card implementation for my telemetry system was really frustrating and ended with me ordering a new breakout board.
  • Writing isn’t just creative for me — it helps me think and plan more clearly. I started reading a few books to improve this skill.
